As a result of voting by Apple Store employees in Towson Mall, Maryland, the bill to form a union was passed with 65 in favor and 33 against.

This is the first time that a vote to form a union among Apple’s 270 stores in the United States has been passed.

According to the voting result, the employees will join the International Machinery and Aerospace Workers’ Federation, and they can form their own union branch.

Last month, an Apple store in Atlanta also promoted the establishment of a labor union to secure a living wage, but

The company withdrew the voting application saying it was engaging in unfair labor practices.

Recently, there is a wind of union formation among companies representing the United States, such as Amazon and Starbucks.

It is analyzed that such a move led to the labor movement due to job insecurity caused by the aftermath of COVID-19 and the rising prices that could not be afforded by workers.
