Starting in July of this year, Microsoft will start sending notifications to “Windows 8.1” devices that support for Windows 8.1 will end on January 10, 2023.

After official support ends, Windows 8.1 devices will no longer receive Windows Update, so you have no choice but to use it at your own risk. And since most companies’ software will also end support for Windows 8.1, there will be restrictions on the use of other software.

So, those currently using Windows 8.1 will need to upgrade to the new operating system before official support ends. Since Windows 11, Microsoft’s latest operating system, has high CPU requirements, it is safe to upgrade to Windows 10 if you plan to use your current device.
