Sony and Honda announced to invest $37 million to establish Sony-Honda Mobility

According to Reuters on the 17th, Sony and Honda announced that they would invest $37 million to establish Sony-Honda Mobility Co., Ltd.

Sony and Honda Mobility plan to start selling electric vehicles and providing services from 2025.

Sony and Honda agreed in March on a strategic alliance to strengthen the electric vehicle and mobility fields. The goal is to fuse Honda’s mobility development capabilities, vehicle manufacturing technology, and after-sales service operation capabilities with Sony’s imaging sensing, communication, and network technologies and know-how.

Honda’s Senior Vice President Yazuhide Mizuno has been appointed as chairman of the joint venture, and Sony Vice President Izumi Kawanishi has been appointed as CEO.
